Ministry of Education Announces this very Bad News to University and College Students

The Kenya Kwanza government has launched a sounding blow to University and College education in Kenya. This is after the incoming Cabinet Secretary for Education Hon. Ezekiel Machogu announced that the Ministry will no longer equip the highest education units with management funds. The Minister said this during the Universities and Colleges Management meeting in Nairobi today November 5 2022.

During the meeting the immediate former Nyaribari Masaba Member of Parliament affirmed that the government will no longer give revenue funds to public colleges and universities. He indicated that the educational units should incase create alternative means of generating cash for their functions. Machogu said, "For long the public universities and colleges have been relying on funds given from the government. The Money has made some institutions lazy and unable to find creative means of generating funds. As the new government, we wish to inform the management of these institutions that they must start getting independent financially."

The new framework from the Education Ministry may cause an acute rise of fee structures hence affecting studying students. In the recent past, Public universities and Colleges have been suffering from inadequate funding from the National Government.
